Empowering Communities Through Clean Cooking: TANGSEN's Impact in Kibaha
In a remarkable collaboration aimed at advancing sustainable energy solutions, TANGSEN partnered with local government officials and village leaders to reach six wards within Kibaha District. Their mission was to gather critical insights from users of clean cooking solutions especially gas stoves that had been distributed as part of an initiative to promote clean cooking energy.
Motivated by guidance from the Kibaha District Council, this initiative was done to evaluate the real-world usage of the stoves, encourage consistent adoption, and plan for future replacements. The goal was clear to reduce reliance on harmful fuels and foster a cleaner, healthier cooking environment for both entrepreneurs and families.
The purpose of the data collection was also to begin identifying local entrepreneurs in areas such as Mlandizi, along with the possible obstacles they may be facing in adopting clean cooking solutions. Special attention was given to understanding the situation of mama lishe (informal women food vendors) and energy product sellers, who are key stakeholders in the transition to clean energy.
By gathering these insights, TANGSEN and its partners aim to better understand the current dynamics on the ground. The information will help shape future strategies to support communities more effectively whether through training, improved supply chains, or increased access to affordable clean cooking technologies.
