TANGSEN, in partnership with the Ministry of Energy (MoE) and key energy nexus sectors, has successfully revitalized the Technical Working Group (TWG), originally established in 2018. This revitalization is a significant step toward advancing the development of the Sustainable Energy for All (SEforALL) Gender Action Plan (GAP).
The inaugural meeting, held on 26 November 2024 at the African Dream Hotel in Dodoma, which brought together representatives from three pivotal ministries: The Ministry of Energy, the Ministry of Community Development, Gender, Elderly, and Children, and the President’s Office for Regional Administration and Local Government. Additionally, key affiliated institutions under the Ministry of Energy participated, including the Petroleum Bulk Procurement Agency (PBPA), Petroleum Upstream Regulatory Authority (PURA), Rural Energy Agency (REA), Energy and Water Utilities Regulatory Authority (EWURA), Tanzania Electric Supply Company Limited (TANESCO), and Tanzania Petroleum Development Corporation (TPDC).
As a unified TWG, these team members are dedicated to reviewing the SEforALL GAP and GMGs to address pressing Energy and Gender challenges. The workshop achieved significant milestones, such as fostering enhanced private sector engagement in initiatives aligned with the TWG’s objectives.
